Minutes From the May 27-29, 1992 Colorado Board of Nursing Meeting

Fran Reider, Mr. and Ms. Kessler, and Janet Quinn were present and addressed the Board regarding the benefits of Therapeutic Touch as a healing modalitie. The Board reviewed the memorandum regarding recommendations from the State Board of Nursing sub-committee to investigate the awarding of continuing education units to nurses for the study of therapeutic touch and other non-traditional and complementary healing modalities. After discussion, a motion was made, seconded and carried that the Board will continue with its approval of Therapeutic Touch for continuing education credits and will continue to approve continuing education programs on a case by case basis. The vote was 8 yes, 1 abstention. Sally Phillips abstained from voting in this matter.
